Dear Families and Guests,

Last week, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the loosening of restrictions to allow visitors at

long-term care facilities in Michigan.

This is great news and a giant leap forward to bring The Westland House back to a pre-pandemic level of normalcy. However, the relaxing of visitation restrictions can only resume with the safety measures we posted on our homepage.

We know how hard this has been for everyone. It’s been hard for our residents, hard for families, and hard for our management and staff. But with a decrease in Covid-19 positivity rates, the effectiveness of the vaccine, and our commitment to safety protocols, we hope to relax restrictions even more and reconnect families on a more frequent basis.

Ultimately, we are equally excited and share the feelings of happiness with our residents and guests. We also must stay the course and remain cautious until this Covid-19 pandemic is behind us. Please review the visitor guidelines posted and reserve your day and time. We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely yours,
The Westland House

Dear Families and Guests,

As we enter the holiday season, we’d like to thank our team members for their commitment to the health and safety of our senior residents. We are extremely proud of how they have helped our residents and their families adapt to the present situation.

Plus, thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication, our facility remains fully operational and has resumed in-person scheduled tours for all invited guests.

It is also important to know that we continue to follow the advice of state and local health officials regarding PPE protocols and best practices for cleaning and sanitizing our facility for Covid-19. Targeted prevention is our main focus to best protect our team members and residents.

We welcome you to call or email with any questions, and please stay strong and stay safe.

Sincerely,

The Westland House

Dear Families and Guests,

As your choice of caregiver, we share in the frustration and challenges the spring and summer quarantine has brought our residents, as well as families and staff. In order to ensure that we are providing the best possible care, health and safety for our residents, we are working diligently to remain committed and focused on what is best for our entire senior community.

Our robust checklist includes:

SCREENING team members for possible exposure, symptoms, and administering daily temperature checks.

LIMITING visitors to only health officials and medical professionals.

PROMOTING social distancing within our facility.

CLEANING and disinfecting throughout the community as necessary.

In addition, our levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) are in accordance with CDC guidelines and we remain up-to-date with all state regulations and recommendations.

As always, we thank you for your continued support, understanding, and patience during these

ever-changing times.

Dear The Westland House Families,

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to take precautionary measures to protect our residents and staff during these uncertain times.

As we continue to focus on prevention of COVID-19 by screening staff members, routine cleaning and sanitizing, and monitoring CDC.gov for daily updates, we are committed to keeping our facility safer than ever.

The situation regarding COVID-19 has our full attention. While state and local organizations are taking the necessary steps and precautions, the health and safety of our residents and our employees who care for them remain our top priority.

At The Westland House, we screen our employees for signs and symptoms of any illness before each shift and perform daily deep cleanings with chemical disinfectants throughout the facility — which remains fully operational.

In order to stay completely focused on the care of our residents we have discontinued all non-essential supplier meetings and respectfully ask family members to reduce their number of visits to ensure the safety and well-being of our senior community.

Rest assured, we are complying with all Centers of Disease Control (CDC) recommendations and are staying on top of all communications and daily reports.
